Greetings to the populace of the Far West,
In the interest of fostering friendship and cooperation among the people of all the Strongholds, throughout the Barony (and the SCA whole), and between all the people from various national and cultural backgrounds living together here in the Far West, I encourage everyone to introduce themselves here to everyone else and communicate with each other and create new friendships. I also encourage you all to get everyone else you know, be they members, potential members, or just friends interested in what we do, to come here to the forums and talk.
I strongly suggest all the web ministers put a link to the forums on thier group websites, which I will be doing as soon as I get back to my home computer.
I really hope and look forward to seeing much activity and discussion here and making new friends throughout the Barony.
In service to the people of Warriors Gate and the Far West,
Arslan Chagatai, Seneschal and Web Minister, Stronghold of Warriors Gate

Greetings from a former resident of the Barony of the Far West,
Fifteen years ago I was a member of the Stronghold of Eternal Winds. It was the best two years I ever had in the SCA. Has anyone every heard of, or know the location of, the following members?
Rhiannon ferch Llewellyn ap Siorl (Sharon Garland) Gundolfus Vastator (Ed Garland) Sharon's - now adult - children, Scott & Belle
FYI, when I was at Eternal Winds I wrote songs specifically for the Barony and for Eternal Winds. If anyone is interested I'll try to recreate and forward them.
Best Wishes,
Eoghan CuChaille (Gary Mead)

Greetings to the residents of the Barony of the Far West. I am known as Ii Katsumori, and am currently one of three SCAdians living in Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Yuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit (aka Bangkok, Thailand). Besides myself and my wife, Abe no Akirakeiko, we have recently been joined by Saitou Takauji-dono. I hail, recently, from the Barony of Stierbach in the Kingdom of Atlantia, though I started playing some time ago with the Barony of Winter's Gate, Oertha, Kingdom of the West. I travel quite a bit, so hopefully will be able to get out to events elsewhere once in a while. In addition, we are going to try to drum up some support locally, and encourage anyone to let us know if they will be in the area. I'm apprenticed to Hiraizumi Tadanobu-gimi, aka Baron Edward of Effingham, and have a slight interest in things Japanese. I also count among my good friends Yamamori-dono, aka Corius, who had moved from these lands to Atlantia some time ago. We've already sent some information to Fr. Jak, but I just wanted to introduce myself to the populace at large. -Ii

Greetings unto the Palatine Barony of the Far West!
My name is Klement St. Christoph. I have been living and working in Bangkok, for the past six years without any contact to the SCA. I started playing back in 1980 in the Barony of Allyshia, Kingdom of the West. Since then, I have lived in the Principality and Kingdom of Drachenwald and the Kingdom of An Tir. It is a pleasure to be back in the Kingdom of the West, and I look forward to meeting the members of this Barony at the other end of the world.

Greetings one and all! I am Lord Wilhelm Meis, CLM. My interests run across a broad range, including the martial arts as well as the arts and sciences. I hail from the Shire of Crystal Mynes, Kingdom of Calontir, where I received an Award of Arms from Their Majesties Siridean and Sile in A.S. XXXIX and was inducted into the Order of the Leather Mallet for my work in toys and games by Their Majesties Martino II and Ariel II in A.S. XL. I served briefly as Herald for the Shire of Crystal Mynes, and I am currently the Minister of Arts & Sciences as well as Webminister for the Stronghold of Battle Rock. My persona is German, though I have more recently developed a greater interest in all things Norse (since my travels IRL to Iceland and Sweden), and my persona is closely tied to the Hanseatic trade, which is perhaps the only way the son of a 14th century Swabian merchant would have ended up in Stockholm at the beginning of the 15th century. Wilhelm's family, political rivals of the Habsburgs, moved north during a time of great expansion of Habsburg influence in the south of Germany, cutting short Wilhelm's education at the only German-speaking university in the world at Vienna. I started playing in the SCA in the Barony of Wiesenfeuer, Kingdom of Ansteorra, in A.S. XXX and have been on again, off again ever since. Lady Elena Kirkman of the Barony of Wiesenfeuer is my mother IRL. I am glad to be here in the Far West, and I hope I get to know everyone in the Barony's populace during my stay here. If anyone has any questions for me or just wants to say hi, please leave me a message at scabattlerock.wikia.com/wiki/User_talk:Wilhelm_MeisIn Service to the Dream, Lord Wilhelm MeisAttachments:

Greetings all!
I'm Cascata Nerina Bjornsdottir. I know it's a jumble of names and a jumble of locales, if you want the whole persona story ask. But there's no point in reciting the Whole thing here.
Suffice it to say that my father's in the SCA too (as evidenced by the patronym), and I've had the other part of the name too long to change it now.
As for the mundane: I'm an English teacher in Korea currently doing Hagwon work and hoping to get into public school next year.
I hope to learn something from everyone!
Still Studying, Casi

Well Met Friends.
My name is Gareth Hadley, an Englishman from Birmingham. He studies the Heraldic arts and is tempted by his fathers trade, but is as yet uncertain what direction he is headed.
Mundanely I am Zachary C. Morgan. An E6/MM1 in the US Navy stationed on board the USS George Washington(CVN-73) Air Craft Carrier out of Yokosuka, Japan. I'll have been in the Navy for 9 years this August and am getting out Sept2011. Currently I plan to move to Lochac, probably Perth, so if anyone knows anyone down there, contacts would be great. I read scifi/fantasy, am a movie guy and an amateur photographer. Look me up on FB to see some of my stuffs or just to bull with when I'm in port.
I am also the new Chatelaine and Herald for Vale de Draco. (Does that make me Deputies to the Baronial Officers?) and a Deputy Baronial Webminister in charge of the forums. I will assist as I can.
If anyone is interested in backstory feel free to ask and I'll send you a PM. Gareth

Greetings to all in the Far West, from a corner of Calontir!
I am Susanna de l'Essart [original persona late 16th C., English, married to a French engineer who serves the English queen... enough back story already ;-) ... I time travel a bit], now residing in the Canton of Axed Root--where I am the token old person in a college group--and perhaps soon to be a resident of your Barony. In Singapore. So I don't expect to meet very many of you in person. :-)
I'm strictly an A&S geek, interested in fiber arts and cooking. I started playing about 5 years ago, in the Shire of Drygestan in the Outlands. I'll mostly be lurking here until I found out for sure if we are just visiting Singapore periodically OR moving there long-term.

Greetings! Lord Brant,
Welcome to the Barony!
Are you on the Vale de Draco e-mail list? Also, do you know about our sister organization, Avalon?
There are several folks in Yokosuka--they will probably try to contact you, but if not, let me know and I'll try to get you some more direct contact info.
Our Baronial Knight Marshal is also in the Vale, up at Camp Zama.
Again, welcome!

We will probably have to fight over you with Lochac They have several folks that pass through Singapore often enough (I was just talking to the Baron and Baroness of Ildhafn, and he apparently gets up that way often--so let them know you are there, too). We can always work something out. Are you on any of the other lists? Feel free to hit me up privately--I'm in Bangkok and should make it down to Singapore some time soon; not sure if you will be there yet or not. You can still take part in discussions and A&S activities from a distance, if you wish, and if you get the chance to travel, we would love to see you! -Ii
