Introduce yourself!
I'm Danr Bjornsson. I'm a Norseman from Hedeby. This is Isabel, my lady.
My father is named Lars but he is a big guy and I'm not, so that's how I got the name Bjornsson (son of a bear). I picked up Isabel in Dublin, a Viking settlement you might have heard of, for a herd of sheep and 3 cows. I got a good bargain because she was 17 and still not married due to her strong will. Her personality got her the nickname "Ulfsdottir" (daughter of a wolf) even though her father's name is Erik. Norse nicknames tend to have a sharp edge. We are Christian vikings because our King Harald converted, so as leading citizens of Hedeby (3 farms, a townhouse, 2 knaar and a drakkar) we had to set a good example.
I like working with wood, bone, and metal. But my job in Yongsan keeps me busy, so I haven't touched my tools in months. It makes me sad. Isabel is almost done with her master's degree, so we hope she can get back to her textile and glass arts soon. We are sad that we have not been active in the stronghold this year and hope to do better.
I also enjoy heraldry and am the baronial herald. I am looking for a deputy/successor to train or work with. If you are a herald, or enjoy yelling, drawing, learning about different period cultures and their naming practices, or performing before a crowd, then I would like to hear from you. Note the clever way I slipped a heraldry & culture lesson into our biography! If you are not interested in that, you can still contact me about getting a cool heraldic device to put on your shield, cloths, banner, etc.
